its fwd... its on spag web and hes now buildin a mid engined mini van
stiff springes in the front woth a smaller front wheels with lower ride hieght will get rid of this
Sorry ace3bmw3 i thought you meant minis were rear wheel drive ,my bad.:(
daverave2204... i start my comment REAR DRIVE FRONT STEER cars, that means NOT FRONT WHEEL DRIVE . if the owners of this mini have got a v8 into it and kept it front wheel drive then not only do they need a medal but an award for engineering expertice and performing effing miracles. But if it IS still front wheel drive then fair enough it is torque steer.
minis are front wheel drive the torque from the engine forces the wheels to thrash about and cause torque steer
Looks more like mad steerin to me!!
looks like you get mad toe in when the nose lifts!
Yeah, torque steer sux.
thats a lie.. Oversteer can happen in a straight line.. like when im driving in the rain.. once my turbo hits hard at 7k rpm my rear wheels break loose and get sideways.
Rear drive front steer cars DO NOT GET TORQUE STEER EVER f4r20. even if its a million bhp dragster. what happens to them off the line is one of many different things ....chassis twisting, front wheels lifting of the ground, the driver moving the wheel a fraction BUT NOT EVER TORQUE STEER!
oversteer only happens when ur cornerin!
yeah read that definition.. you are right but is says usually but it can happen but in fewer cases
It might move around the place but its still not torque steer unless it has 4 wheel steering, Wikipedia has a good definition.
no im not talking about over steer its toque steer on the rear wheels and it does happen. Like a powerful RWD v8 when it accelerates it starts to move all around the place even when going in a straight line
That's called oversteer not torque steer unless your car steers from the back
on steroids
that s funny for evry mini-fan
livecam-teilchenbesch leuniger de
torque steer can also happen with rwd cars...the same thing
yea if u look at :08 def is bump steer
non limited slip diffs are open diffs.
thats what your seeing there.
an open diff.
you want a limited clip diff.
You say BMW and Porsche makes sports cars?
Don't take it out on a wet day, mate!!! Fun car, though!
Yep! It's not all torque steer!
In fact, it's a combination of things. There is obviously an element of torque steer, being a 3.5L V8.. But you're spot on, when the front lifts, it toes in - quite a lot in the last few mils of suspension travel. (We measured it with the car stationary.) However, the front subframe eventually split in half across the bulkhead, I'm not *sure* if it was broken when we made this vid, but in any case - something was also flexing!
mr. bean car
Looks more like bump steer causing a huge toe in condition when the front lifts which causes the front end to hunt back and forth. |
