point taken, I mean most bmw's are all turbo charged but they use two smaller turbos, so their is very little lag and it effects most of the rev range. But i'm just talking generally...there are exceptions, but turbos usually effect a smaller rev range which can be irritating. see all bolt-on -turbo-hondas ect.
I wouldn't say that 3500-9000 rpm is a small range ;)

Its to bad turbos effect such a small area of the rev range...but i guess it doesn't matter that much.
I just love how he waited after 2nd gear. The thing is so fast that pauses for that long don't really matter when pitted against anything else.

No, it's the rev counter. There was something wrong with the rev counter signal.

The gauge everyone is looking at has to be a boost gauge, that's the reason it looks so strange. Notice it falls very quickly everytime the BOV opens.
The reason most cross-crank V8s don't rev very high is because they are pushrod engines, not because of the crank configuration.

don't have a problem with 1000hp, it's just a bit odd for a v8 with a cross-crankshaft AND turbos to rev so high, usefully. most boosted v8 applications stay around 6-7000 tops. As for the needle, I've counted the specs of white I could see, like 0,1,2... weird for it to start at 3... whatever, still like the car, not so the looks

That Stack tacho goes 0-3-10krpm... The tacho goes round to 10krpm, he's shifting up at about 8krpm or just over... |
