^ correct. turbo's run on average 40,000rpm... it can slow down causing the spindle to twist, but it is NOT as much force as you believe... and yes there is FAR worse.

the turbine spinning backwards is a myth that is completely false.. the most is does is slow the wheel down slightly.. that wheel is spinning at tens of thousands of rpm it does fuck up your turbo but only after a couple of years there are a ton of worse things ive seen people do then just running without a bov

hope that noise isn't compressor surge the last thing u want is to fuck the turbo's as comp surge forces the turbine to spin backwards for a brief period, putting stress on your compressor wheel, the spindle and i think it can also back up your exhaust system. albeit only for brief periods its not what the charger is intended to do, nor is it good for it and i doubt that the extra back pressure in the exhaust is doing anyone a favour. some people love the dose sound, but i hate what it can do

wastegates and blow off valves are two different things

just something about the high pitched whine they make that i've never liked. kinda gets in the way of the sound of the motor. just my opinion.
