too much oil pressure it just as bad as not enough. It depends on the car, what volume oil pump and main/rod bearing oil clearances. Not all cars have the exact same oil pressure per rpm or temp. Also the weight of the oil also has a big factor.

a good race motor will have over 100psi oil pressure when cold. once the engine is at operating temprature oil pressure should never go below about 40psi. i build race engines for a living and low oil pressure is usually caused by excessive play in the bottom end. and believe me, that aint a good thing.

well yes you need to run at least 93 OCTane in those cars and as in for oil pressure you might be running to thick of a oil I would runn 10w 30 sytec blend in that thing or your oil gauge is faulty or something is wrong with the oil pump or something of that nature . but not sure cause i know a few people that have these cars and there oil pressure is low when the car is idling low but when you rev it up the oil pressure should go up if not then something is not right and u need to get it check

Actually from what I was told by the Talon driver it was over 800 all boost. And the Trans Am was pushing 900 on the bottle.

dont worrie about your pressure gauge its faulty from factory the reason it keeps shuttin off it sounds like fuel system not type

a built trans from shep racing is actually under 2 grand (for a good one) Shep racing ran consistent 8's in the 1/4 on a trans they'll build for you (based on your stock trans) for less than 2k dollars... they run 7 second ET's at over 190 on their dog box... Not sure what trans this car has, but for less than a couple grand they could have a very tough trans in the car :)

I see so many people say it is AWD. Fact is this guy LIKE SO MANY OTHER V8 GUYS think I am going to kick the hell out of this this lil 4 cyl car and turn around and burn twice the fuel and get their AZZ handed to them. Fact is these DSM cars are muscle cars no matter if you like them or not. NO EXCUSES ya I am a Olds guy,but give credit where it is due. BTW watch out for turbo 4cyl dodges as well minivans will kick your AZZ if your not careful!

hey this is a question for all you guys out there i just bought a 94 talon tsi awd, that when i get to a stop it keeps on shutting off, could it be because of the gas it says it needs premium fuel only...and also i just changed the oil i put regular 10-40w and im getting low pressure when i got it it had 3-4ths so that would be normal and now its 1-4th from low do you think its because i need synthetik oil, its the first time i have a car with a turbo so i really appreciate the help
