lol all these nice cars and bikes... then an accord lol. The Hornet put up a good fight to a hopped up supra. They didnt list the mods done to the AMC... was probably a stock 308 lol. I kicked the shit out of a stock supra with my stock and slow Yamaha Virago, so this video isnt really saying much for the Supra.

Your comment shows just how much you actually no about the 2JZ-GTE. It's hands down probably one of the best responding engines to mods ever made. Supras aren't like generic imports. They still cost 30k+ for a reason.

Supras are actually fairly cheap to modify. It's the actual car itself since they're considered collectors vehicles now that drive up the bill. Hell when you can throw on a 5k turbo kit and make 650rwhp, that's pretty damn good.

If only the hornet had the 20k+ to hop up his car with like the supra. They should have a competition where the cost of the parts etc was the same; you'd never find a japanese car. Dollar for dollar; American cars go faster.

two different solutions to one problem. power. the japanese try to achieve it with ultimate efficiency, the americans try to compensate for their ineffiecient engines with huge displacement. its more personal preferance than anything.

Not that I'm a V8 fan-boy or anything; I'm partial to Straight Six's, specifically the 258 AMC, the 4.0L Jeep (and, when the crank and piston rods of the 258 are introduced to the 4.0L, it becomes the 4.6L stroker, a very nice engine in my opinion)and the Cummins 6bt (very nice for Torque :D) Don't get my wrong; The 2JZ is a very good engine, it's just not my style. Haha... Alright, last comment, I promise!

Another thing to consider is traction; which the Supra has a bad reputation for. Now, I dunno how well the Hornet does is that aspect, but it's something to consider. To those say that Japanese power-plants are superior because they can get 100HP per Litre, you have to take into account that American motors aren't meant to have high revs, or a high HP/L content. No, American engines, especially the V8's that you seem to hate with a passion have something that many Japanese cars do not: Torque.

I have to say something to all those who are saying that the Hornet is indeed a bad car, because that statement to wholly false. When comparing two cars, one has to take into account more than just Horsepower, which I'm sure the Supra has plenty of. You also have to pay attention to the Torque curves; many high HP cars, that are Turbocharged, suffer from extreme lag. I am willing to bet that the Hornet has a nice, flat, Torque curve, but one has to ask himself, does the Supra?

4780 is no joke, especially with the stroker. I'm still running the 3 liter, and have no problems with most things on the road. That's a serious setup for the street. Actually, I know someone who has that setup, but is running a VERY large shot of NOS on the street for these exact reasons...to beat bikes. One word, 2 syllables....Batlground.
