In real life the Turbo is much faster, and safer. For amateur track racing again Turbo is faster because is much easyer with its 4X4 and has better acceleration.

ok the gt3rs could rape the 997, and for the most part the gt3 can too

If you check the lap times then you will see that on some tracks the GT3 RS is faster but on others the Turbo is faster, however most of the time the GT3 RS is faster. It really depends on the track. On the power courses that depend more on straight line speed then the Turbo is faster, but on more twisty tracks that have many tough corners then the GT3 RS is faster. One crucial difference is that the Turbo is easier to drive fast because of 4WD. The GT3 is more of a challenge to drive fast.

plaque? you mean the stuff that accumulates on your teeth if not brushed? OH! You mean PLAGUE. Way to prove a point by sounding like a moron.

Yea well i read it on their homepage.. But i guess it does come down to driving them yourself to know how it works.

Again, paper doesn't mean anything! I've driven both the GT3 and the 911 Turbo. Its has a quicker 0-60 at least when I drove it. You cant read what some dude wrote in an article about a car and swear by it, you have to do it yourself. If that were the case every car would be #1 because the manufacturer said so! Yes the have variable turbos (do you know how that works...for real?) but that's for power, what good is power if you cant turn! The GT3 handles better the turbo is faster

Well the GT3 does simply NOT have a better 0-60 time. 3.7/3.9 sec vs 4.3 sec... And the Turbo also has the Variable Turbine Geometry to prevent most of the turbolag

It may not be faster (meaning top end)than the turbo but you gotta compare all motor, vs twin turbo. There is some turbo lag which is why the GT3 has a better 0-60 time. That is also where I meant instantaneous power. Going fast in a straight line really doesn't mean anything unless you are driving on a runway strip. What makes a car fun to drive is the handling, and the GT3 wins that. Paper specs leave a lot of things out of driving a car. Believe the hype on the GT3, it's damn near perfect!

Yes i understand what you are saying. But i do not understand where that "instantaneous power" comes from with a 65 hp difference, if anything it _should_ be the the other way around. And yes i would like to drive both of them (who wouldn't :P) since im a big Porsche fan. And the GT2 i've heard that it's supposed to be some kind of a better car, yes. But the GT3 i've never been able to figure out...

The Turbo is a faster car, but when you consider driving and instantaneous power the GT3 feels a lot better on the road. It is a smoother shift... you have to drive the two to know the difference. Reading about it just doesn't cut it. As far as the GT2 and the turbo they arent the same car at all! The turbo is AWD and the GT2 is rear wheel drive. The GT2 also has as different transmission and engine setup. The 997 GT2 runs lap times on the Nurburging close to the Carrera GT supercar,No contest!

Ye, how come everyone wants a GT3/GT3RS when the Turbo clearly owns them in every way you look at it? And the 911 Turbo is basically the same as the GT2 too performance wise, but nicer to look at.

omg, look at the difference in the 80-120km/h

They dominate the Le mans 24 hours endurance series, which is way more tougher. They got nothing to prove.

GT3 sound at 8800 rpm limit = angels singing in all their glory. Priceless!!

I think turbo would be a better option for daily use... but the sound of the GT3 is just pure heaven!!

man these are two different cars for two different things, if u want ur ass to feel nice and soft when ur driving around town u buy a turbo, if u want rock solid feel and a sore ass buy a gt3, its very simple. Id rather the gt3. As for F1 i think the last time Porsche had anything to do with f1 was when they supplied TAG engines to McLaren in the 80's

porsche did have an f1 team but give it up in a955

I think the Turbo is better because it beats my daewoo lanos sport twin turbo injected and boosted.

The GT3 is funner, period. But the Turbo, is better for all-around.

I've always wondered why Porsche doesn't have an F1 team

cause they have BALLS and go RALLY racing.

If porsche is so fast why do they avoid F1 like the plaque.... Chickens.

ricers...

Smoke weed then drive nice cars.

Nonetheless, the GT3 is 400 pounds lighter than the Turbo. That is a huge difference.
