EP3 is ugly

bullshit i've driven one and i fell asleep coz the car is SOOO BORING and dull. Absolutely no character. And its slow as shit too. Turbo is pathetic, not to mention the lag.

You are not serious are you?? And if someone spends 8k on an Ep3 it would be more hardcore than an FN2 hardcore... listen to what you are sayin...

Well,it actually isnt slower...Stig drove it and it was faster than both the preivous model and the Golf GTI...And he said it is his car of the year 2007 so it must be pretty good then :)

There is no turbo lag at ALL for the MK5 GTI.

I would keep the EP3 Type R. They have the same engine but the FN2 has 1hp more. The EP3 is lighter and has independent rear suspension. FN2 uses torsion bar (aka beam suspension) for cost cutting reasons.

they are both nice cars but the old type r looks better and is faster but the new one has better interior the dashboard is very cool...I will take the old one

It's nothing like a turbo and the vv timing is more to do with valve duration and lift than addition fuel input.

low torque @ high revs = powerrrr 200nM @ 8,000 = 400nM @ 4,000 same power. the higher the revs the less torque required. its all about ratios. never judge a car by torque

I have sat in my EP3 and FN2 and I love both of them. The FN2 is a nicer place to be than the EP3 tho I have to say.

no. the bleep was the audible warning you can set to come on at certain speeds. The dealer had set it at 50mph.

I did leave the revs on when I changed gear. I guess it was just that I was stepping out of an EP3 which has a cable throttle into the FN2 which uses fly by wire. It has been noted on Civic forums about the difference in throttle response. I have the gear change down now after 5 months in the FN2;-). The FN2 in this video did have the optional JBL bass pack.. and it is not worth having in my opinion. The standard stereo is OK i guess.. as long as you dont like bass.

People are picky arnt they. I suppose after over 40 thousand views someone was gonna notice that I was just talking b****ks. As you saw in the video I have had an EP3 and now have a FN2 as of 2nd march 2007. The punto comment was because apart from bits falling of it, the punto turbo was the most fun I have had from a car. A little 1.4 turbo roller skate. It felt fast but was only 120bhp.

The type-r uses variable valve timing to allow a lot more fuel to be added at the top half of the rev range. i.e Vtec It feels like a turbo without the lag;-).

Hey guys, I am looking to buy either a golf gti , focus st or a type r and just wondered what ur thinking is?....I love the looks of the type r but put of by having no turbo and such low torque...i know its lightweight but dont understand why its so quick at 0-62 at 6.6 secs ....let me know guys

Have you ever sat in that car? If you havent then how could you make a complete judgement on that comment? I have been in it and I was very comfortable and very appreciative of the layout of the interior. The way that the bucket seats and the dashboard layout of the drivers side gave me a cocoon feeling as if I was harnessed inside a spaceship. Unlike any other car Ive seen on the market. Its not a car to laze around in but a car to undertake in a poised manner.

he ses - he wants 2 hear the car scream at 30mph in 2nd gear....wel...in my type r ive hit 47mph in 1st gear! haha...so.....hes waaaaaaaay in the past...comparin his punto to a type r - ryt noof.... its a type R! they are built to go fast - hense y u dont feel the speed til the high revs wen the i-vtec kicks in...cos its built to take the speed...this car cruises at 125mph - i kno..because i bought a black fn2 on march 20th 2007

that guys...a- doesnt kno ow 2 shift...u can hear him fukin leave his foot on the petrol while he changes gear n the car revs in no gear....secondly he complains about the system - sayin his jbl system is better in his freekin shitti punto he is a gimp...th music system in the civics is amazing from stock! and it was the radio tht played shit..not the system....but i dnt think tht car wil of had the concert pack -which is the better speaker kit...(i own the new civic type r - thts how i kno..

I have put 8k on my FN2 now and it is much more hardcore if you ask me. I had a EP3 for 3 years so I know what I am talking about. Have you driven the FN2 for any period of time?

The EP3 is more hardcore. The FN2 has lost a lot of the raw type-r feeling.
