A lot has to do with being too small of a company to compete in the world market. Lambo now uses a lot of off the shelf Audi parts that cost them next to nothing for example. Jag was a complete shambles though and Ford saved their ass no doubt about it.

How come I haven't seen a review from Top/Fifth gear for the Saleen S7. I'm pretty sure that it will hold its own if not put a Enzo in its place.

Well, at least we've got that going, right? LOL. I love how these European driving shows all seem to show the superiority of European engineering and the American shows all show superiority of American engineering. And of course, the Japanese show superiority of Japanese engineering. If you look around, however, you might find a review that Jeremy Clarkson did on the original Dodge Viper that actually gives an objective review - not biased. What's happened since?

The reason we claim engineering superiority is because since the dawn of time we have completely outperfomed American engineering bar a few examples (Shelby Cobra is one, though wasn't the cahssis British?) Take any engine block from the states, take the same CC to Europer and you'll find double the horsepower. Its only now with the Z06 that you have finally caught up. However, I'm not taking away from what Classic American cars have that a lot of European ones lack, Character.

I'm tired of Europeans saying our engineering is bad. Saab, Lamborghini, Volvo, Aston martin, jaguar, and land rover was owned and/or saved by an American car company (because they couldn't survive on their own). we have super cars that can outrun whatever you bring across the ocean.
