I've seen IRL pics of stuff like this... Not pretty :-|

hell ya

My stiff bits are exactly where they should be.

in different countries they have different bodies and saftey

jon is mow on da gadget show

that's why i drive dodge Nitro, also because of my own safety. If i would crash with my Daveoo Matiz in honda like that, we would probably be both dead.. With my nitro case at least is more chance for me to live in case of heavy crash.

just go with a damn hummer h1

Bring back the horse and cart ....

Uhhh yeah you ever seen the way SUVs roll in crash tests? A car with a high centre of gravity handles much more poorly than cars with lower centres of gravity, its simple physics. Additionally, heavier cars are generally much worse at braking, hence reduced stopping distance, hence more likelihood you're gonna end up going up someones arse. And there's a difference between a big car & an SUV, u could easily cart around 3 kids & all their crap in a medium sized sedan, why is an SUV so essential?

Ok, then all cars who is larger than your Audi is dangerus, that means all big mercedes, audi, bmw, volvo etc. and all minivans is to be forbidden. Do you have any proof in your statement that bigger car are more likely to get in accidents? In a family with three kids a big car is nessecery, you got hockey practice, horsebackriding, motocrossriding, football, vaications and so on, wee need a big car, i am concidering buying a tahoe hybrid, it does 27mpg and has all the room we need.

Additionally, larger cars are much more likely to end up in an accident in the first place. There's just no reason to justify owning one 99% of the time

Any small car that gets t-boned by a big car is going to get wasted it doesn't matter how many airbags it has or what n-cap safety rating it achieves. That was my point exactly - big car vs. little car always ends badly for the driver of the small car. My Audi A3 has a 5 star safety rating but I know that if I get hit by an SUV I'm fucked. Trying to justify owning a large car for safety reasons is selfish and irrational, if everyone drove smaller cars we wouldn't have this problem...

The Honda is one of the worst cars ever made, no matter what would have t-boned it, the outcome would have been the same. The real danger is the weight ratio, when a heavy car crash into a light car the big one wins. All my cars has at least a curbweight of 4000lbs. Btw, my wife was offended being called useless.

Fuck man, it should be illegal to buy an SUV unless you can prove that you genuinely NEED one (for work purposes or something) and needing an SUV to pick up your fatarse kids from school shouldn't be an excuse. Useless house wives driving dangerous cars is not a good combination

heres how you solve the problem drive a truck or a volvo, lol

Your sort of right. My Ford Fiesta is a five speed manual and it has the same layout on the top of the gearstick. Reverse doesnt have a "branch" coming off, it just has "R" stamped on it.

I'm gonna buy myself an X3 or X5 now, lol

grow up

sounds wrong stiff bits

I just noticed that their symbol is a 4 speed gate shifter when it should be a 5 speed

cars back then had metal bodies so they lasted a lot better. the test they are doing conceds that the two drivers didn't see each other untill it was to late otherwise most people would be slamming the brakes which would lessen the impact a bit. some of the older trucks before 1995 are a bit weaker. I know this from experience, my coworker ran a stop sign in a 93 dakota and slammed into a small sedan and the front of his truck was completely obliterated.

holy shit. remind me to stay away from the czech republic.

Sod that - you can buy a T80 from the Czech Republic for £8000!

yea, but you would be safe as heck.

i'm less wealthy too so i bought an older Merc 2 years ago (300E 1991 model). built similar to a tank and they only cost 5% of their new price these days. much safer than my old Datsun 120Y. All the weight of the Merc makes for a quiet and smooth ride too. At 10L/100kms i'm at the pump a bit more often, but due to the better technology not as much difference as i thought there would be. buy quality even if it is second/fourth hand. it pays.
