Description:Wow...too many questions to answer...I think Ill have too make another video to attempt to answer some of the questions that I've been asked. Here are a few FAQ's though: -Which batteries do you use? 4 x 12v 33AH (amp hour = capacity) lead acids. I would use Lithium bats, but as a student at $10 an hour I cant afford them by a long shot. -Which Motor? Briggs and stratton "etek" 48V 300A 15HP I dont think they make them anymore but "PMG" - a german brand, make a 72v 400A 35HP motor! (it is more expensive though). -How fast? It only goes about 60KPH (36mph) with the current (LOW) gearing, but with different gearing I think it could do over 110KPH (66mph), (I know a guy who put the same motor and controller on a pocket bike/monkey bike with 1 to 1 gearing and he did 178KPH (110MPH)!! -How long will it go for? About 15 minutes flat-out with one battery pack (4 x 12v 33AH bats) I hope this helps! By the way...someone asked for drawings...I didn't do any (sorry!!) I measure once, cut twice :D Cheers, Felix

do you know where i can buy an electric go kart for ages 12 and over costing £100-£120.

ok eric cartman LOL but it is awsome

DAMN! That sounds hella smooth & FAST!

KILLER

nice

what did you do for the axle? fixed or live? and is it single wheel driven, or dual wheel driven?

nice

do you want to sell it

do you want to sell it

Yeah they use to use a single HUGE engine with leather belts going all over the place to power machinery. Totally stupid and the reason those companies went out of business when electric motors took over. Electric wins, sorry. They dominate nearly all markets except automotive.

They used to use combustion engines in factories, google Greenfield Village (or go there) and line shaft. Electric motors are just a less complicated way to get power to machines.

you can recharge the batts easy. build cost would depend on new or used parts

where do u get it from?? do u have to buy a new battery every time or can u recharge it???

barix1227, seeing that your just a kid, it's obvious you still have some learning to do about electric motors used in industry. So if you want to know what they are used in that requires lots of torque then here you go: The bagger 288, which is pure electric, all diesel-electric trains, pure electric trains, diesel-electric mining dump trucks, and turbine and/or gas electric ships. These mosnters make your big rig cry for its mommy.

WTF!!! 4 to 5thousand dollars?

all you have to do is buy like 3 or 4 of those batteries, charge them, and bingo, like an hour of fun

i think he made it, maybe like 4000-5000 dollars to make

lol, AND electricity doesnt work for gas, gas works for electricity LOL! cause you need gas to make electricity!

why you discriminated towards motors, that smessed up, apologize

you don't need to look at a big rig, look at ANY train you see they often pull 100 cars which can haul 20 to 40 times as much weight as one 48' trailer, so thats what 2000 to 4000 times as much weight being pulled by one or two ELECTRIC MOTORS

Check out trains.

holy crap Awsome!! how much did it cost you to make? or how much did it cost you to buy it?

Electric motors suck, I'll quit talking about them when i see one move a fuckin big rig.

Let's not forget an engine can't even get itself started without the help of...you guessed it...an electric motor. ;)

wow that makes a very nice sound can i have it??
