well, I've been told many different horsepower ratings, too. I usually go by Dodge's claim on the power. For example, the 2008 is claimed by Dodge to have 600bhp, while some owners claim that they got a little more. If your Viper is stock, then it should be just around 500bhp, and maybe around mid 400 at the wheels, since power is always lost through drivetrain no matter what vehical. If you upgrade yours, try doing a little at a time so you can get used to it and not wreck it as alot havelately

You are right thanks for the post monkeys.I looked under the hood today it had on there 8.3 liters but i did not see the horse power rate he said 500 and someone else said 505 i also was told 510.I wonder who's right about that mine is a 2004 model srt10 v10 engine.So who do you think right about the horse power ?

almost correct. The Gen 3 vipers (2003-2006) are all 8.3 liters. from 2003-2005 it has had 500bhp, and in 2006 when the SRT-10 soups came out, they had 510bhp. The Gen 4 vipers (2008-20xx) have 600bhp

Vipers are much nicer, and you don't see them very much. Corevette's are everywhere, who cares about the speed, Vipers are much sexier!
