well but for less than 600 you get an stg1 upgrade for the srt4 that gives 240hp 260tq or for 1000 get stg2 and make 265hp 280tq. and your GM stg2 cant keep up. :P

Wow! you couldn't be farther from correct if you actually were trying. The SRT's have some common factory issues (tps wiring) but for the most part they have a terrific reliability record until ppl do stupid mods with no gauges. Chrysler/Dodge has produced the most factory turbo motors period. The 2.4 turbo has been in production in Mexico for damn near 15 years. It's hardly new and "new to the U.S." doesn't count. Parts are cheap and they respond beautifully to light mods.

I chose the redline over the SRT-4 because lets face it folks, the SRT-4 looks like shit, exterior and interior, and is horribly uncomfortable inside... that combined with saturn has low resale value so I was able to pick up an '04 in 2005 with 23k miles for 13,900.... and let's not even discuss dodge reliability, I mean I know GM sucks but if you see an SRT-4 on the road its only days from being in the shop

I own a redline. The SRT-4 is faster, both from a dig and a roll. WRX is faster from a dig, slightly slower from a roll. Other than these two cars, NOTHING in its class is faster. RSX-S, Celica GT-S (lol), Eclipse GT (even the 4th gen), mustang (with the exception of the new GT)... nothing. Cobalt SS = Redline. For 1,000 (parts and labor) saturn will install stage 2 which bumps HP from 205 to 245 and torque to 250 ft lbs, making it possibly faster than the SRT-4.

You do know that the SS/SC and the Redline are the same car right? both are GM's delta platform with a LSJ engine (2.0l supercharged)

Not entirely true. A stage 2 redline runs 13.5's easily. And redlines dont have turbo lag (better off the line). So for stoplight races and races like the one shown here, this is completely true, and the srt 4 driver is not at fault.

I give respect to both cars, but like someone said earlier, these 2 cars are not quite matched up evenly. I mean of course u got ur ion with a SC and then ur SRT-4 with a Turbo, but everyone knows that the SRT-4 will kill this car anyday. I mean come on, dont just say," Oh that Ion is much faster and can beat that piece of crap Neon!" when u know ur only saying that because u drive an Ion. Known fact: SRT-4 > ION And btw, im getting an SRT-4 very soon because of that simple fact.

Yeah dumbass his numbers are right. When numbers are that close it becomes a drivers race. A viper and a geo tracker is not a drivers race. 13.9 vs. 14.3 against 11.7 vs. i don't know a trackers time but probably 18.0. Stop bieng so proud and be realistic.

Well if that's the case, then you can say that a Geo Tracker is faster than a Dodge Viper SRT-10 if the Viper driver can't drive a manual. The Redline IS a slower car. I didn't see anything "dumbass" about iturbo's comment. His numbers were right.

I drive a SRT-4 and I would like to aplogize for iturbosrt4's dumbass remarks. It does depend on the driver. All I have is cai and exhaust and I smoke my buddies stage 2 with intake and exhaust because he can't drive for shit.

WRX: 0-60 is 5.7 Cobalt SS/SC: 6.3 Yeah, depending on the driver this race is a toss up. WRX is a faster production car though (I'm not talking about the STI, let me make that known before I upset some STI fanatic!).
