not in 1905 they didn't
That's cool, but, my neighbors Ford F150 sounds and smokes just like that.
from the website that i read about this car, many people died on this car, or at least another just like it , they made very few, were all had machined. they had mechanics on board just to keep it running. as far as i can remember like 5 mechanics died on it...
how much hp to max rpm did this baby put out??
Let me assure you, that is a 25 litre engine, it may be smaller than that ford motor u mentioned, but there isnt as much metal around the bores as u think, ive seen a Hispano Suiza 18L car do the quarter mile down here at the geelong speed trials, sounded just as good, and i got to see it pu close, and it was alot small than this car's engine
Amazing how far mechanical and fuel technologies, as well as our understanding of them, have come, isn't it?
Wow, how much is that worth? I would have to guess well over a million at barret Jackson
However...doing the math: a 170 mm piston (6.7 inches) and a 140 mm stroke (5.5 inches) by the formula Bore X bore X stroke X .7854 X (number of cyl) 8 equals 1551 cubic inches! or...the claimed 25 litres. And only 200 hp! A NHRA Top Fuel motor (500 cubic inches) can put out 8500 hp and go over 325 mph in a standing start 1/4 mile.
I'm surprised at the claimed size of this engine. (25 litres) Was just looking at a picture of an IHRA race motor of 815 cubic inches (Ford) and at half the displacement, it was twice the physical size. You gotta have big pistons and a long stroke to get 25 litres. instead of 107 the IHRA car ran 214 mph in only 1/4 mile. Yeah! Progress.
Sounds like pure evil :D I LOVE it
Damn! That's cool. It sounds like my lawnmower...
I said it to aleks6989 ;)
You're an idiot, it's a 1905 engine, you don't understand this? go to hell with your fuckin' ricers
LOL, I love it how when it starts it almost twists itself out of the car.
not for 1905.
wow what a peace of crap lol
spirfire engine or something?
sounds like a airplane.
Thats amazing. I wouldent take it over 30kays.lol
Astonishing how far the automibile has come. Both ends of the spectrum are amazing.
Thats ridiculous, a 25 liter V8
that means each cylinder is over 3 liters, larger than most engines today are in total. or, one cylinder is roughly the equivalent of Two honda 1.8liter I4's and nearly 3 1.3liter mazda rotary's
Awesome job guys, what an amazing piece of machinery! I wish that I was there to see it running in the flesh!! Good luck with the rest of it.
quality motor ! shame about the shocking carbs and design of the inlet manifold... I would probably go the sacraligeous route and wedge 4 weber 45's on... !!!
If all you blokes really want to find out about this car go to the web site that I listed in the description.
Dont make wild guesses about it
comon. we wana see it drive and start doing some burnouts !]
haha!!! i love seeing the intake valves opening and closing on top of the engine!!! |
