RSX Type S: 200hp and a 14.6 second 1/4 mile. ION Redline/Cobalt SS: 205hp and a 14.5 second 1/4 mile. I'd say it's a drivers race, but I've seen as low as a 14.2 from a STOCK ION Redline AT SEA LEVEL. The fastest STOCK RSX Type S I've seen is 14.4. They both clocked about .260 lights +/- a few hundredths each.

ION Redline: 4.04 Final drive ratio. Cobalt SS: 4.05 Final drive Ratio. I've raced my ION(when it was stock) against stock SS's and it's pretty much a driver's race. I'd say the ION missed a gear. ZZPerformance: Stage kits 1-4 INTENSE-Racing: Stage kits 1-5 GM Performance: Stage kits 1-3

The LSJ is a 2.0L TURBO motor from the Saab 9 3 with a supercharger instead of a turbo.

i like both redlines and the ss... i have an 06 ss/sc. i took one redline out the other day coming home..... it was fairly fast and i took it till we slowed down at 130... mines stock and i dont know what he had on his, the same engine but different bodies...

my 2 favorite cars are a 08 turbo cobaltss and a 06 spec v so idk which one to get.

i test drove both the SS and redline, and bought the redline because: 1. identical under the hood ('05) 2. redlines look sweeter by a longshot (mines black) 3. the SS interior sucked compared to the redlines. only thing that pisses me off is the sucky stereo system, i added 2-tens in the back but didnt help much. One system i was VERY impressed with was the scion Tc, i almost bought that but didnt because it wasnt fast enough.

There is absolutely no such thing as a 2.4 Redline. Don't even argue. If you put a Redline badge on your Ion 3 take it off.

All GM upgrades or the stage kits? Because with Stage 2 you're more around 270 bhp.

from the factory with all the gm upgrades it can produce near 280.....

They have the same car, same engine, same everything.. 190 hp, 2.4L ecotech engine.. why did cobalt win?? saturn didn't shift well, probably over rev... cuz both of them are at 190 hp @5400...

where did you hear 300 hp anwhere?

300 hp with a pully? Yeah right. 2.8 pully, 60lb injectors, full exhaust, meth, and a good tune will barely get you that.

They can, really, thats no bs. 350z's are better handling cars, but are way heavier than redlines and make similar power. (RL's make around 220 to the wheels stock, Z's are around 250)

im saying theres no way in hell cobalts can beat a 350z...and if you did, obviously the driver of the car was A. not trying or B. doesnt know how to drive.
