the point of this is not to compare an ameican car to an american car, that'd be pointless. cuz then an american looks like it actually works. the point of this is to show the americans can't build proper cars, so they need a european car. and the M5 actually has LESS power than the cruiser. more expensive cuz: 1. its a BMW and 2. Its got more computers in it than teh whole US government

This comparison is highly wrong and in accurate. Top Gear is too much Pro European. They don't get the facts right. The BMW is better because it is $84,000. The Chrysler SRT-8 is about the same price as a BMW 528i. Lets see who wins then?

This is a terrible comparison---compare the M5 with a Cadillac CTS-V, that's much more fair. The 300C SRT8 wasn't meant to be high-preformance, just fast with a lot of torque. The CTS-V preforms (better) than a European high-preformance luxury sedan. In fact, it set the fastest production sedan time on the Nurburgring.

Yes. Both continents' cars are good in their own ways. Everybody needs to quit bitching and get over it. Ever since the Japs figured out how to make cars, everyone thinks that America forgot. European cars have always been good but rediculously expensive, they've become much more affordable.

Americans and Europeans look at cars and car building TOTALLY different. Americans like a lot of power, show and noise. And as soon as you throw most American cars into a corner THEY FLOAT AND WALLOW LIKE BOATS. Europeans are more into handling and feel. They care more about suspension dynamics and control. Neither is wrong....just different. Americans like to CRUUUISE and be seen. Europeans like to DRIVE.

American cars are cheap because (as Jeremy put it once) they are made of melted down action figures, does not change the fact that the 300c and the M5 are in the same class (executive sedans).
