Yes, I know that most racers use a gear box similar to DSG. The matter of the fact is, a manual gear box is still more fun that any automated manual one.

Second of all the reason its called an automatic transmission is because the transmission is fully automated until you decide to actually pull one of the paddles. yes its not a stick, but its still a manual transmission for crying out loud.

Actually both of you are idiots, I dear to come down to a day at the track and tell any of the racers that he is not shifting gears, just because he's using paddles. the correct term is smg, which is sequential MANUAL gearbox. and MANUAL means that your in control of when the gears are shifting, it wouldn't matter if your using a fucking button, your still controlling the gearbox.

As far as I'm concerned a paddle shift gearbox with the option of being like a conventional automatic, is still an automatic. The only gearbox that I like that is DSG.

The new C63 AMG is an automatic. An old man's car. Mercedes once built great cars. Now, not so much. It isn't that hard to drop a huge engine into a car with an automatic gearbox and then drive it.
