the 4.6 and 5.4 are modular block more or less the 5.4 is the 4.6 different bore stroke and cams valves etc etc.
like i said, i dont hate ford, i just dont understand why they cant put out as much power as the competition. i mean the 4.6L has a lot of potential as well as the 5.4L. i have 2 friends that went to school for fords and they both say the 4.6 is an awesome engine and can out perform the 5.4 if they have the same mods done. im talking all out like everything aftermarket. the 4.6 may not have as much power but it will last longer. 4.6L's are very good engines, just need a long awaited power bump.
i like my f150 i have now. it is V6 2wd 5spd stick, and i was getting 19.9mpg last summer and that was constant and it wasnt all highway miles altho it was mostly 55-65mph roads. winter i got about 18 with 400LBs in the bed. i put air intake on about 2 weeks ago and the 1st time i put gas in it i had gotten 25.29mpg, its probably going to drop once it adjusts better. but it has pretty good power and quickness) i drove a 06 f150 4.6V8 and my V6 would blow it away.
and also by the way, i hated the C-10, it had a 305V8 2bbl and had no get up and go, it had a 3spd auto tranny without OD and a 13 gallon tank, i only got about 10-12mpg, had no power(did a 1/4mile b4 it hit 60mph), my mom now has a 2000GMC sierra and i dont like how the drivers seat is positioned, i prefer my ford. firebirds are my favorite cars, with the exception of a few years of them.
the 78 was rebuilt at 100k, also the last day i drove it, i was on the interstate and lost my front main seal so lost all the oil. i drove on for another mile to the exit and checked the dipstick. it was dry. put 4 qts in(all i had on me) and it started up right away and idled fine. yes it was a good motor but only 165hp. i did like that truck, then my 97 ranger had 112hp, the 04 f150 has a V6 @ 202hp but i have a cold air intake on it so its about 210. the chevy C-10(not S10) had a 305 V8@160hp
and also by the way, i am on my 7th vehicle in 7 yrs of driving and i have owned 3 fords,(78 f150,97 ranger, 04 f150 heritage) 1 chevy 86 C-10), 2 pontiacs (89firebird, 96 trans am) and 1 chrysler(90 5th ave). i will say right now that the fords have given me the least problems. i dont dislike ford in general, just stangs. and also by the way, the 78 f150 was a 351 windsor. it had 255k miles when i got it and sold it 2 yrs later with 285k. yes good motor but like i said, not a lot of power
they arent compareable now, read the comment i had, i said "when they started out" speaking of the 50's and 60's. i know vette started in the 50's and stang was 64, camaro was 67 so stang competed with vette for 2 years then camaro was out so ford competed with camaro. and by the way, i like pontiacs, not chevy, so im not a bowtie faggot, i know they are almost same company and all but i just like the look of pontiacs. yes they are gm i know. but some cars of each dont cross companies.

how come ford is so far behind on their engine power? for instance in pickups, ford has 3 gas engines in the f150, chevy has 4 engines, the V6's (ford 4.2,chevy4.3), and fords 2 V8's(4.6,5.4) and chevy's 3 V8's(4.8,5.3,6.0) both have different variations of each size engine. but in the V6's ford wins by 7hp, in the V8's ford's best of its 4.6V8 is 248hp, chevy's 2nd smallest engine (4.8V8) is 295hp, then fords 5.4V8 @ 300hp, and chevy's 5.3 @ 315hp, then chevy still has 1 more engine 6.0(367hp)
and yes "themeatloaf360", find anonther way to make power in the stang other than forced induction. i dont know how you didnt understand it, you can type so obviously you can read, maybe head up you ass kept you from seeing it? all the other companies did it, why does ford need to put superchargers on everything just to keep up? f150 lightning(which is my favorite truck) and mustang. i like the lightning, just not how they decided to make its power. the 5.4 is 300hp, it should pump out more..
um corvette and mustang were in the same class when they came out, my retarded friend, until corvette could kick stangs ass instead of just beat it by a little. and camaro and stang were muscle cars. nobody really considers the new ones as muscle cars. they are sports cars. buy a new stang and ask your insurance company what category its under. it will be SPORTS car. so put your hand on your chest and try to bite your ear so everyone knows how you really are.

I want pure performance. Im in a mercedes clk55 amg rite now but the srt8 has an amazing amount of power. i love the feel and when i test drove it, it buried me in the seat when i pushed down just a little. its a crazy fast car and i love it but i wanna kno if it has huge amounts of problems or not.
