The Ws6 had headers cam and cat back. Thats why he did so good against the z06. Both are NICE cars!!

So because it says it in a magazine you have to believe it? Common... 13.4? I know 3 people in the high 12's with bone stock ws6's.
Also look it up, there has been a few people in the high ll's with stock 03 z06's. Comes down to drive obviously. But you should watch the video again, the ws6 isn't stock.

I dont think GM cares what they sell, a $30k-$40k car or a $40k-$50k car. It doesnt matter, its all GM, as long as they sell them, they wouldnt care. usually people who buy camaros put aftermarket stuff on them and take them to the track, corvette owners buy them and garage them for years. and for the difference in price of the vette and camaro, you can make a camaro faster than a vette, and sound better. its not about outselling, its about having 2 different cars for 2 different customers.
yeah, same engine but different HP ratings which is what everyone is arguing about on here. i guess you really wouldn't know the HP ratings and how close they are to GM's claims unless you work for GM or dynoed a vette and f-body

Anyway, yes the LS6 intake was used in 01 and 02, maybe 00 but I don't think so. But in 98 when the LS1 was put in the F-body, it was GM rated at 305 and the vette in 97, first year for LS1 in vette, was GM rated at 345. Also there are guys who would buy a vette and guys that buy a F-body. usually, the ones with vettes are rich and can't drive stick.

Not sure what you are saying...Are you Agreeing? Yes, the intake did make a difference. That's partially why 01-02 F-bodies have more hp(used an LS6 intake) The hp numbers posted for this cars are underrated to help the corvette outsell the Camaro/Firebird. I do not know how much actual crank hp the Camaro/Firebird can produce since it varied by year and by the different that were used. What I could say is that the hp is closer to 350 that GM stated.
i know its the same engine, same bore/stroke and all. but exhaust and intake together might add close to 40 on a 300hp engine, but probably not 40, maybe 20-30. and since the LS1 was in the vette first at 345hp, that means the LS1 in the camaro and T/A is detuned(so to speak) because the computer/exhaust/intake are more restrictive. but nothing is done to the engine itself.

Wrong. On an F-body, the exhaust is restrictive. You can upgrade the exhaust,Tune(even heard simply changing the chip will release more power) and other small parts. Engine is the same. |
